New Process: Special Immigrant Juveniles (SIJS) Applicants Turning 21 Can File I-360 In Person

 

New Process Allows Special Immigrant Juveniles to File Form I-360 in Person Before Their 21st Birthday

An email USCIS sent out a couple of hours ago explains:

Petitioners (or their representatives) for Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) classification nearing age 21 may now schedule an appointment within two weeks before their 21st birthday to file Form I-360, Petition for Amerasian, Widow(er), or Special Immigrant, in person.

Petitioners may call the USCIS Contact Center at 800-375-5283 to request an SIJ expedite appointment at a local field office. The field office will accept Form I-360 and date-stamp the first page. The field office will then provide the petitioner or representative with a photocopy of the first page of SIJ Form I-360 and will process the petition and supporting documents for receipting.

Also, remember that the filing address for Form I-360's and Form I-485's was updated today. Double check the filing address so you don't get your petition or application bounced back!

  Bona Fide Marriage Exemption Non-citizens who marry U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents while in removal proceedings must show by clear and convincing evidence that the marriage was entered into in good faith.
